A Cheap Samsung Laser Printer That Can Hang With the Big Dogs

When it comes to cheap laser printers, Samsung is right there with the rest of the big-name printer companies. One such model capable of competing is the Samsung ML-2851ND Network-Ready Monochrome Laser Printer. It might be a cheaply priced model, but it’s not cheap as far as quality is concerned. And I’m not referring to quality only in regards to resolution, but for the printer as a whole. For instance, look at the speed numbers. The ML-2851ND can print up to 30 pages per minute and it can have the first page out in only 8.5 seconds. 100 sheets can be completed in only 4 minutes. This might not be top-notch, but when you see the prices below, you will understand the speed value you’re getting. This is actually not uncommon for a laser printer that sells for cheap, but it’s still nice to see that Samsung didn’t fall short with the speed on this model.
The Samsung ML-2851ND Network-Ready Monochrome Laser Printer is one of those cheap laser printers that offer some random and unexpected features. For instance, if you use Toner Save Mode, you can extend the cartridge life by up to 40%. Those of you who know how expensive ink can get will greatly appreciate this. This model is also very durable and has a maximum monthly duty cycle of 30,000 pages, which makes it perfect for many small office environments. There is an auto-duplexing feature, a 400MHz processor, 32MB of memory, a 250-sheet capacity, and a 1-sheet multipurpose tray.
Print resolution for the ML-2851ND can reach as high as 1200 x 1200 dots per inch. This is good, but not great. However, it should be expected for the price. Speaking of which, this model has a list price of $329.99. Not bad, but you can get it new for only $169.99 on Amazon. And if you prefer refurbished or used units, they go for $109.95 and $149.99, respectively.
The Samsung ML-2851ND is 14.3 x 14.5 x 8.3 inches. It’s PC and Mac-compatible yet operates much better on a PC.
