Cloth Baby Diapers

Are you considering cloth baby diapers for your little newborn? There are many advantages and disadvantages to using them. They are considered a little more environmentally friendly, however there are some other considerations to take into account. Because many mothers are not home to care for their baby as they used to be, cloth baby diapers are sometimes considered a thing of the past due to the amount of washings that they require as opposed to disposable diapers. In the microwave generation, where we pride ourselves on not having to wait, getting what we want now, cloth diapers are somewhat obsolete. New mothers are pushed to give birth and return to work within three months, or risk losing their job. So, the baby must go to the day care. Day care providers don’t have the time to constantly care for babies in cloth diapers. Not only is it more work to change, but it also needs to be washed immediately or it could cause germs to spread. Cloth diapers are also more expensive. Being “green” compatible, purchasing them to help the environment, will be quite pricy. Prices for cloth diapers vary, depending on your style. You can go in the more economical direction and spend about $10 for a pack of baby cloths and about $3 for the safety pins, not to mention the money you will spend on detergent to constantly keep these diapers clean. They can also be purchased at any baby store, or for the busy mom, online stores sell them all the time. Again, depending on your price range, you can purchase them almost immediately. Gerber sells a 12 pack of cloth diapers for 18.99, whereas Kushies sells a set of 5 for $46.95. So, cloth diapering can be somewhat inexpensive if you plan to be with your child on a constant basis. But for those who cannot, it is more feasible to use regular diapers. Visit cloth baby diapers and prefold cloth diaper for more information.
