Lean to Conservatory – An Excellent Choice for Home Improvement
June 25, 2010 by GuestPoster
Lean to conservatories have become increasingly popular among many homeowners in the UK. This style of conservatory is always at the top of the list when people are considering enhancing the aesthetic appeal of their home. This type of conservatory is available in many online stores and high street DIY retailers which make its popularity soar even more.
Lean to conservatory designs, which are flat fronted, are the most spacious of the type of the conservatory types and provide massive internal living areas for your property. This type of conservatory does not have any diagonal facets to its foundation making it the easiest of all conservatories to plan and construct.
Most lean to conservatory roofs are typically made from polycarbonate with roof bars horizontally aligned running from the house wall to the front part of the conservatory. It would be ideal to get the thickest polycarbonate roof such as a minimum of 25mm for your lean to conservatory. The roof can assume one of the two angles, either a 2.5 degree angle or a 5 degree with plastic firings to fill in each end. The good thing about choosing the higher degree of roof angle is that the rain tends to be drained quicker and it inhibits moss from building up on the roof over a period of time.
The door of the conservatory should be placed strategically in order to get the maximum space capacity that your conservatory can offer. It would be wise to position the door one frame away from the house to provide more flexibility with furniture and other interior décor placement. This will also permit the door from the house to fold flat back on to the house wall. The problem with the conservatory door being in close proximity to the house is that it can unnecessarily create a corridor through the center of the floor which makes the seating plan very difficult.
A lean to conservatory is an important home improvement endeavor that, when done properly, will definitely increase the aesthetic appeal of your home at a very affordable price.
