Wedge Shoes With Suits

One thing you hear a lot about wedge shoes is that they are a casual shoe. It is true that the wedge shoe is the only high heel that is truly suitable for all casual occasions. This is because they are comfortable and easy to walk in, not because they are not suitable for formal occasions. In fact, many classified wedge shoes were designed for suits.

The number one key to having wedge shoes that look professional is the color of the wedge. Most wedge shoes are made from cork. Cork is great. It gives cushion and support to the shoe, but it does not look professional in most cases. The only way to pull off cork wedges in a professional setting it to have the rest of the shoe be the same color beige as the cork. A professional wedge of any type should have the wedge heel matching the rest of the shoe.

When wearing a wedge shoe with a skirt suit, there is a lot of freedom, but a few things to be wary of. As noted earlier, a professional looking wedge will usually be one uniform color over the wedge and the shoe, like ravel shoes brand makes. However, with a knee length pencil skirt, that can make your feet look disproportionately large. The same shoe with an A-line skirt, that flares at the bottom, will look classy, elegant, and balanced. If you want to wear a cork wedge with a skirt it will look less heavy, but be sure to repeat the color of the cork elsewhere in the outfit, or else it will look out of place. A handbag or necklace is a great way to repeat that cork look.

With pant suits, you don’t need to worry about your foot looking disproportionately large, since most of the shoe will be hidden with the pants. This gives you a lot of freedom in wearing wearing any type of wedge shoe you want, from a wedge ankle boot to a wedge peep toe. You can even wear cork wedges under dark colored pants for a nice contrast. People who say that wedge shoes are only for casual occasions are missing out.
