Recent news tells us that fossil fuel sources are rapidly declining. We do not only have to look for alternative sources of energy because we want to save our environment, but also because we need a new kind of energy when fossil fuels become obsolete. The most popular alternative sources of energy are Wind energy and Solar Energy. Countries that don’t have a lot of sun like Holland and Great Britain, are building a lot of Windmill parks in order to create a new source of energy. But countries that receive a lot of sun have a far better option, solar energy.

The great advantage about these new types of energy is that there is an abundant quantity of it. No matter how many solar collectors or windmill parks we build, we will never run out of solar- and wind energy. Probably the main advantage of solar energy is the fact that it is really easy to collect for everybody. All you have to do is place some solar panels on top of your roof and you are able to collect energy. Another great thing is that all the energy you receive is totally free. The only costs associated with solar energy are the initial costs for purchasing the solar panels.

Other advantages are that using solar energy is not causing pollution in any way. You are not only saving money with it, but you are also doing a favor to mother nature. The only thing that is causing pollution is the production of the solar panels. Also consider the fact that you don’t need to be connected to the electricity network in order to receive electricity. This is especially beneficial if you live in remote areas where it is difficult to get connected to a network and connecting to it will cost you a lot of money.

Off course there are not only advantages associated with solar energy. Science is still working on improving the process of collecting energy from solar light and dissolving the disadvantages. It will not be long before all fossil fuels will be depleted and solar energy will become our main source.
