Making some diet mistakes is very common. Most of us do it and most of us have an unsafe or ineffective diet journey because of it. But that is about to change. 1. Skipping breakfast
This is one of the biggest diet mistakes that most people make. It causes the metabolism to slow down significantly and will make it difficult for you to lose weight. Make sure that you eat breakfast first thing in the morning and that it is a healthy and hearty breakfast.
2. Eating 3 or less meals
The less often we feed the body the higher the chance of the metabolism slowing down. So switch over from 3 or less meals a day to 6 small meals more often. It will boost your metabolism and will make it difficult to overeat or to be fooled by calories.
3. Fad dieting
Fad dieting is a surefire way to slow down the metabolism by eating very little and less often. Rather make sure that you stay as far away from fad diets as possible.
4. Avoiding carbs
If you avoid carbs you won’t have as much energy and you will be more likely to have cravings and hunger pangs. Not all carbs are bad; you just have to know which ones to include and which ones to avoid. Get plenty of whole wheat products, baby and sweet potato and brown rice and pasta in.
5. Restricting calories severely
A se3vere calorie restriction will make you hungry and you will be more likely to have cravings. And it will also slow your metabolism down significantly. Go rather for a diet that there is a slight calorie deficit.
6. Eating very little fat
When you diet your diet should be low in fat. But avoiding fat will leave you hungry, cranky and unhappy. Make sure to include lots of the healthy fat (unsaturated ones)
7. Converting back to old eating habits
This is a mistake that lots of dieters (especially fad dieters) make. Don’t go back to your old eating habits – it will only make you pick up weight.
